What are your fees?

GP Mental Health Care Plan
To receive a Medicare rebate, book an appointment with your GP to obtain a Mental Health Care Plan prior to your first session. This plan allows you to claim up to 10 individual and 10 group sessions per calendar year. Your GP will initially refer you for up to 6 sessions, with a further 4 sessions available after a review appointment.
Under a GP Mental Health Care Plan, our competitive out-of-pocket fees range from $77.60 to $97.60 per 50-minute session (location-dependent).

NDIS
We accept referrals from self-managed and plan-managed NDIS participants. All services, including report writing, are billed in accordance with NDIS Capacity Building pricing arrangements.

Private Health Insurance
A 50-minute individual therapy session is $210. Contact your health insurer directly to discuss your eligibility for rebates, as all policies vary. Please note: you cannot claim both a Medicare rebate and a private health fund rebate for the same session.

What is your cancellation policy?

We require a minimum of 48 hours notice for cancellations. If you cancel within 48 hours of your scheduled appointment, a full session fee will be charged.

My child doesn't want to come, but I know they really need help. Should I push them?

This is a common concern for parents. We recommend agreeing to a set number of initial sessions (typically 3-4) to give your child a chance to build rapport and experience therapy. If, after those sessions, they still don't want to continue, we wouldn't recommend forcing them. We only work with young people who are consenting to treatment, as forcing therapy can create negative associations that may prevent them from reaching out for support when they're ready in the future. In these situations, we can shift our focus to supporting you as a parent, providing guidance and strategies on how to best support your child at home.

What is the difference between an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker vs a Psychologist?

While both accredited mental health social workers and psychologists are qualified mental health professionals who can provide therapy under Medicare, there are important differences in training, approach, and the unique benefits each brings to care.

Psychologists typically focus on individual psychological processes, assessment, and therapeutic interventions centred on thoughts, behaviours, and emotions. Accredited mental health social workers, on the other hand, are trained in a holistic, person-in-environment approach that considers the broader context of an individual's life, including family dynamics, social systems, community resources, and environmental factors that impact mental health.

What are the benefits of seeing an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker?

Mental health social workers bring a systemic and ecological perspective that recognises mental health challenges don't exist in isolation. We are uniquely trained to work with families and wider systems, making us particularly effective when issues involve family relationships, school difficulties, social challenges, or require coordination across multiple services. Our approach is strengths-based and practical, focusing not only on symptom reduction but also on building capacity, accessing resources, and creating sustainable change within the person's real-world environment.

We draw on evidence-based approaches such as DBT, CBT, mindfulness-based therapies, and systemic practices, tailoring each session to best support your needs. Central to this work is your lived experience and expertise in your own life. We value transparency and collaboration, and see therapy as a partnership – it’s us working together and not us telling you what to change.

Mental health social workers excel at working collaboratively with other professionals and systems involved in a young person's care, including schools, GP's, paediatricians, and community services. Our training emphasises advocacy, case coordination, and removing barriers to well-being—skills that are particularly valuable when working with complex presentations, neurodiversity, or families navigating multiple service systems.
